DMANET: Discrete Mathematics and Algorithms Network

The DMANET mailing list for discrete mathematics and algorithms has currently about 6000 subscribers worldwide and is maintained by the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Cologne.

Scope

DMANET spreads information on conferences, workshops, seminars etc. relating to discrete mathematics and algorithms. One may also advertise new preprints, books, and employment opportunities.

The DMANET mailing list is geared towards researchers and practitioners working in the following areas (in a broad sense):

  • combinatorics
  • graph theory
  • combinatorial optimization
  • mathematical programming
  • computational complexity theory
  • combinatorial game theory
  • learning theory
  • machine learning

How to become a member

You can subscribe to the mailing list here. Anyone with a valid email-address can subscribe.
You may choose receiving submitted emails individually, or batched together (digest-option; typically 1-3 emails per day). If your email provider has a selective spam-filter, the digest-option is advisable.
You can unsubscribe or change information via the same page, towards the bottom.

In case of any issues with your membership, please get in touch via dmanet-ownerSpamProtectionzpr.uni-koeln.de.

How to post a message to DMANET

Note that you can only send emails from your current subscription email address to the list, all other emails are automatically discarded.

To post a message to all list members, send your email to dmanetSpamProtectionzpr.uni-koeln.de. Please check that it has the following properties:

  • Subject and message are exactly as you want them to appear on the list (e.g., without notes to the DMANET-moderators).
  • The email has no attachments (pdf-files, etc.). Signatures are no issue, but might not appear on the list.
  • There is a name provided for the sender. At least in the subscription details, but optimally in the email directly. This should be the person monitoring the sender’s address and responding to replies.
  • If possible, send your email in plain text only. It will be sent to the list in plain text, so this way you have better control over what it will look like.
  • Postings related to one single event should be at least about two weeks apart, unless crucial information (such as a registration deadline etc.) is changed.

Note: Your message will be posted only after it was approved by a moderator. If it is approved, you will not get a separate confirmation via email.

If you have difficulties with posting a message, or to express grievances about or appreciation for the DMANET moderators, please get in touch via dmanet-ownerSpamProtectionzpr.uni-koeln.de.
